Primate Center Services
Virology
Virology Services provides molecular diagnostics and sequencing tools for investigators working with SIVs and related viruses. At the same time, we are developing novel techniques for use in virology research with nonhuman primates.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How much do you charge for the SIV virus load (QRT-PCR) assay?
The cost for the QRT-PCR assay is $25 per sample. - What sorts of samples should I provide for SIV virus load assays?
Samples for the virus load assay should be cell-free tissue culture supernatant or EDTA-anticoagulated plasma. For questions about detecting SIV nucleic acids in other sample types, please contact us. - How can I arrange to have samples tested for SIV virus load?
Contact Dr. Friedrich to arrange for SIV diagnostics.
