University Level Course Syllabi
With the help of instructors from around the world, the
WPRC is developing a collection of university and college
level course syllabi used in teaching about nonhuman primates.
These include both introductory and advanced level courses.
The collection can be used by those developing new courses,
by those currently teaching for comparison purposes and by
students to get an idea of what topics are covered at the
introductory and advanced levels.
Instructors were asked to provide department, target audience,
and average number of students taught. Included in most cases are
topics covered, textbook and audiovisuals used and assigned
readings. Each course is identified as introductory or advanced
level. It is important to keep in mind that course syllabi are
constantly being reviewed and revised to reflect both the changing
knowledge in the field of primatology and the individual interests
of the instructor. When your average class size is 300, you will
necessarily take a different approach than if it is fifteen.
Anyone wishing to contribute to this
resource should contact Ray Hamel,

This is a
cooperative project involving a number of institutions. We
welcome their contributions and your suggestions on how we can
improve this resource.
