INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING DOCUMENTS TO PRIMATE INFO NET

The following instructions apply to people who want to submit newsletter text, regulatory documents and other text files to Primate Info Net.

We will convert documents into HTML if possible. To that end, please submit documents according to the following instructions.

We can handle Microsoft Word and WordPerfect documents (for either Macintosh or Windows) fairly easily. Rich Text Format (RTF) is also a good format. Please send such documents as attachments. As a last resort, plain text can be mailed.

Do not send PageMaker files. PageMaker files are created using text from a program other than PageMaker, and then pouring the text into your PageMaker document. It's almost a certainty that the original documents from that other program will be easier to deal with than PageMaker, so please send us the *original* document. (Because your goal may be to produce a PageMaker document, you may think that it the best format for us to deal with is also PageMaker. That's not the case; PageMaker is a layout program, and HTML is not a layout language.)

If we cannot translate your document, we may contact you and ask you to send it in another format.

Questions and documents should be submitted to Ray Hamel at: hamel@primate.wisc.edu.
