PRIMATES IN ART AND ILLUSTRATION: COMMEMORATIVE POSTER

PRIMATES IN ART AND ILLUSTRATION
COMMEMORATIVE POSTER

An international exhibit, Primates in Art and Illustration, was held from August 9 - September 15, 1996 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The exhibit, hosted by the Wisconsin Primate Research Center (WRPRC), was held in conjunction with the International Primatological Society and American Society of Primatologists meetings.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of art works in the exhibit were set aside for the conservation of primates. To mark the exhibit and the meetings, a commemorative poster was created based on the work of Eureka Springs artist, Mary Sims. Mary's intention was to located some of the lesser known endangered species in Victorian settings, hoping that the juxtaposition of the two would cause people to pay closer attention to these species. Mary kindly allowed us to use the image from her painting, Folie A'Deux (Madness for Two) to make the poster which you see here. The poster dimensions are approximately 16X25.

We are offering the poster for sale for $10 plus $2.50 for packaging and shipping. This is a high quality art poster and many people are having it framed. Orders should be sent to:
