THE MTM ENTERPRISES KITTEN by Chris Lambert Mary Tyler Moore's production company uses the MTM logo with a small kitten named Dick Turpin meowing in a parody of the famous MGM lion's roar. A variety of shows have been produced by MTM Enterprises, and the kitten logo is changed slightly with each show. The Mary Tyler Moore Show: The kitten meows normally. VARIATIONS: Episode 2: kitten's meow is higher-pitched,rather shrill. Reason unknown. Episode 71:Kitten replaced by Miss Moore herself, saying "Th-th-th-that's all folks!", a line spoken by Mary Richards during that episode. The Bob Newhart Show: The kitten meows normally. The White Shadow: A different kitten (white w/ black splotches) dribbles a basketball off both M's in the MTM logo. Hill Street Blues: The kitten wears policeman's hat. WKRP in Cincinnati: On the original series, the kitten meows normally. On the new series, the kitten lip-syncs Les Nessman saying "Ooooooh!" St. Elsewhere: The kitten wears a surgical mask and smock. VARIATION: In final episode, the kitten is shown underneath the credits, hooked up to life-support. At the end of the credits, the kitten flatlines. Newhart: The kitten lip-syncs Bob Newhart's understated "Meow". VARIATION: In the last episode, the kitten lip-syncs Darryl and Darryl yelling "QUIET!!!" -- their only line in the entire series. Remington Steele: The kitten wears a Sherlock Holmes deerstalker cap and meerschaum pipe. While meowing, the pipe drops out of its mouth and falls in front of the word "Productions". Graham Kerr: The kitten wears a chef's hat. Xuxa: The kitten lip-syncs Xuxa saying "Ciao!" The Steve Allen Show: The kitten lip-syncs Allen saying "Schmock!" MTM Home Video: The kitten holds a remote control. After meowing, the kitten hits "rewind". The picture winds backwards, and the kitten meows again.
